Original Post By Chris Rempel on October 29th, 2012
As you probably know, the past couple months we have seen tumultuous changes in the SEO world. Many online business people have gone under, also many have simply walked away from the online business altogether.
With the latest Penguin refresh, Google’s “EMD filter” and other noticeable changes in how rankings are obtained – one thing is for certain: Things Are Drastically Different, Now.
Fact #1: You Can Rank Much, Much Faster Than Ever Before
Fact #2: 90% of Those Rankings Will Not Last Longer Than 2-3 Months
Fact #3: Link Spam, Paid Links, High PR Comments, Blog Networks, etc… Still Working Like Clockwork
Fact #4: Social Signals Basically Mean Nothing Right Now – Anomalies & Manual Reviews Aside
Fact #5: Google Doesn’t Care About “Quality Content”, Which is Both Good & Bad
Fact #6: Most Conventional “SEO Wisdom” is BS. Focus Solely on ROI to Succeed
Fact #7: Organic Traffic is Now Akin to Advertising – You Pay For Temporary Traffic, Then You Pay Again for More
Fact #8: SEO-Driven Authority Sites Are Just Too Risky
Fact #9: Traffic is Way More Valuable Than Ever Before…
Fact #10: Google Has Finally Killed the Quality Niche Content Publishing Model.
Final Takeaway: SEO is No Longer a Retirement Strategy. But You Can Still Exploit it to Build Something Bigger…

Types Of Blogs
I've posted this article to give you an idea of not only the types of Blogs but much more. Here you will find information on Blog Search engines, Blogging Communities and Blogging and Advertising. Hopefully this information will give you some insight to the world of Blogging. Also included are several links to additional information and various Blogging Web Sites.
Take a moment to look at the "Basics" and "Training Videos " Pages and feel free to leave a brief comment.
Thanks...
Types
There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written.
Personal Blogs
The personal blog, an ongoing diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read. Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life, or works of art. Blogging can have a sentimental quality. Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following. One type of personal blog, referred to as a microblog, is extremely detailed and seeks to capture a moment in time. Some sites, such as Twitter, allow bloggers to share thoughts and feelings instantaneously with friends and family, and are much faster than emailing or writing.
Corporate and Organizational blogs
A blog can be private, as in most cases, or it can be for business purposes. Blogs used internally to enhance the communication and culture in a corporation or externally for marketing, branding or public relations purposes are called corporate blogs. Similar blogs for clubs and societies are called club blogs, group blogs, or by similar names; typical use is to inform members and other interested parties of club and member activities.
By Genre
Some blogs focus on a particular subject, such as political blogs, health blogs, travel blogs (also known as travelogs), gardening blogs, house blogs, fashion blogs, project blogs, education blogs, niche blogs, classical music blogs, quizzing blogs and legal blogs (often referred to as a blawgs) or dreamlogs. Two common types of genre blogs are art blogs and music blogs. A blog featuring discussions especially about home and family is not uncommonly called a mom blog and one made popular is by Erica Diamond who created Womenonthefence.com which is syndicated to over two million readers monthly. While not a legitimate type of blog, one used for the sole purpose of spamming is known as a Splog.
By Media Type
A blog comprising videos is called a vlog, one comprising links is called a linklog, a site containing a portfolio of sketches is called a sketchblog or one comprising photos is called a photoblog. Blogs with shorter posts and mixed media types are called tumblelogs. Blogs that are written on typewriters and then scanned are called typecast or typecast blogs; see typecasting (blogging).
A rare type of blog hosted on the Gopher Protocol is known as a Phlog.
By Device
Blogs can also be defined by which type of device is used to compose it. A blog written by a mobile device like a mobile phone or PDA could be called a moblog. One early blog was Wearable Wireless Webcam, an online shared diary of a person's personal life combining text, video, and pictures transmitted live from a wearable computer and EyeTap device to a web site. This practice of semi-automated blogging with live video together with text was referred to as sousveillance. Such journals have been used as evidence in legal matters.
Reverse Blog
A Reverse Blog is composed by its users rather than a single blogger. This system has the characteristics of a blog, and the writing of several authors. These can be written by several contributing authors on a topic, or opened up for anyone to write. There is typically some limit to the number of entries to keep it from operating like a Web Forum.
Community and cataloging
The Blogosphere
The collective community of all blogs is known as the blogosphere. Since all blogs are on the internet by definition, they may be seen as interconnected and socially networked, through blogrolls, comments, linkbacks (refbacks, trackbacks or pingbacks) and backlinks. Discussions "in the blogosphere" are occasionally used by the media as a gauge of public opinion on various issues. Because new, untapped communities of bloggers and their readers can emerge in the space of a few years, Internet marketers pay close attention to "trends in the blogosphere".
Blog Search Engines
Several blog search engines are used to search blog contents, such as Bloglines, BlogScope, and Technorati. Technorati, which is among the more popular blog search engines, provides current information on both popular searches and tags used to categorize blog postings. The research community is working on going beyond simple keyword search, by inventing new ways to navigate through huge amounts of information present in the blogosphere, as demonstrated by projects like BlogScope.
Blogging communities and directories
Several online communities exist that connect people to blogs and bloggers to other bloggers, including BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog. Interest-specific blogging platforms are also available. For instance, Blogster has a sizable community of political bloggers among its members. Global Voices aggregates international bloggers, "with emphasis on voices that are not ordinarily heard in international mainstream media."
Blogging and Advertising
It is common for blogs to feature advertisements either to financially benefit the blogger or to promote the blogger's favorite causes. The popularity of blogs has also given rise to "fake blogs" in which a company will create a fictional blog as a marketing tool to promote a product.

Easy To Use Blog Theme
Semiologic Reloaded is a very easy to use, clean format, Wordpress Theme for your Blog. It is, possibly, the most flexible and all embracing theme you'll find for WordPress. It's a "Premium theme" in all but name — because it's FREE to download. The Semiologic theme has been a precursor for many things in the WP world — which were then copied, ripped off, reproduced, you name it. Layout picker, skin picker, font picker, skin customizations, custom css, custom php, widget oriented, customization-safe upgrades…And You don't have to learn any HTML Code.
It happened here first. I would suggest you give this Wordpress Theme a try.
NOTE:
(This Blog will be moving soon to the Semiologic Wordpress Theme.)

Blogging Tips
Blogging Super Tips
Much more needs to be done after you’ve installed your new blog and set up the plugins you want, these are necessary steps. However, WordPress will only take you so far. Let’s look at the whole blogging process from soup to nuts, start to finish.
Picking a Theme
Thesis – The “ol’ Standard” in customizable themes. Thesis is referred to as a “framework” leaving a ton of room for customization. It’s uses a systems of “hooks” to allow you to change the theme as you see fit. Personally, I love this theme because its high quality coding and support. However it’s not the most user friendly when it comes to heavy customization. For that, you’ll have to get your hands dirty in some code.
Headway – This theme is very impressive. It utilizes an ajax system of drag and drop to allow you to create any kind of layout you want. You can create unlimited layouts and customize any page of your site. It’s a great system. There’s a slight learning curve to the interface, but it’s fantastic when you get past that.
Flexability – I have not used this theme in a couple years. When I did it was very user friendly. Whenever I talk about themes on a webinar someone ALWAYS mentions this theme. So it seems as though this one has many happy customers.
Must Have Plugins
I wrote a blog post called “best WordPress plugins for 2012” It’d be kind of weird to repeat that list or make new one for this post. So go read that post for the best plugins.
Creating Content
1.) Here is an insanely comprehensive post full of links to tutorials on the subject of creating great blog content. Sidenote Problogger is a fantastic resource for all things “blogging.”
http://www.problogger.net/how-to-write-great-blog-content/
2.) Neil Patel is an inspiringly brilliant Internet marketer. His content is always thoughtful, detailed, and most importantly actionable. I look up to his writing style when it comes to creating killer content. Here’s a post he wrote about writing content that goes viral
http://www.quicksprout.com/2012/06/04/forget-seo-heres-how-to-write-a-post-that-goes-viral/
Review quicksprout’s content. Seriously. Spend some time there and look over several posts. You’ll be blown away by the quality and detail of the info he provides.
Copywriting
Oh no, this is sooo not the same as writing great content. Copywriting is part science and part art. Probably more of the latter. Learn this well and you’ll be able to sell or presell any product you want.
1.) CopyBlogger – The name says it all, right? Actually this site is jam packed with great info on most things related to IM. Their copywriting info is always top of the line. Here’s a great post on writing copy that speaks to your potential customers desire.
http://www.copyblogger.com/ego-copywriting/
